A couple of years ago I made my way out to the bonfire (a favourite pass time of mine) with both hands full. An ember jumped right out of the fire and landed on my shin. It actually sat there long enough to sizzle before I could get it off. I came in the house and created a “potion” as my family and friends affectionately call it, applied it to my burn, and covered it with a bandage. I always figure if I can’t see it, it’s not there, right??
I forgot – errr – avoided – errr – ignored it for a couple of days – ’cause ignorance is bliss. When I removed the bandage, there was literally nothing there. No burn, nor scar, no puss, no watery stuff, no nothing – the skin was a little different colour where the burn was, but that was it. My skin was all fixed. I couldn’t believe it. More evidence for me that this herbal stuff works.
Goldenseal + Raw Honey = my miracle potion
Goldenseal is an herb that is known for its antibacterial properties. It can be applied to the skin for rashes, wound infections, itching, eczema, acne, and more.

Raw Honey has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antifungal properties. It is used for healing wounds and for the treatment of burns. But is has to be RAW honey. Most of the honey you find in grocery stores has been pasteurized, which destroys all the good stuff.

In an effort to help my son heal a dog bite and prevent infection, I mixed up a batch of this Goldenseal / Plantain / Honey Herbal Healing Ointment, which he uses all the time for injuries he gets at work. Heck, even my dad (the biggest skeptic of them all), now swears by this stuff for his many bangs and gashes he gets on his arms.
